PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR 'PET ID' CLUB


CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE


PERSONS INSURED: The person(s) stated in the Pet-ID Club Registration Form.
TERRITORIAL LIMITS: Anywhere in the UK, N.I., C.I. including Eire and also for temporary visits to member countries of the Pet Travel Scheme (excluding USA and Canada).
PERIOD OF INSURANCE: Twelve months from the date of Pet-ID Club registration and for any additional period for which you have paid the Pet-ID Club membership fee.
ANIMALS INSURED: Pet dogs and cats resident anywhere in the UK or traveling overseas in accordance with the 'Pet Travel Scheme.'

COVER

We will pay:
a) Up to £2,000,000 plus costs agreed between us in writing during any one period of insurance which the person(s) insured could become legally liable to pay for:

  • injury, illness, or disease of any person.
  • loss or damage to property which neither belongs to, nor is in charge of the person(s) insured, caused solely by the animal(s) described in the Registration Form.
b) Solicitors Fees for:

  • representation at any Coroner's inquest or fatal accidental enquiry.
  • defence in any court of summary jurisdiction arising our of any possible claim incurred solely as a result of an event insured under Clause (a) above.

EXCLUSIONS

We will not pay:
a) The first £50 in respect of any one event in respect of loss or damage to property which neither belongs to, nor is in the charge of the person(s) insured.
b) Loss of or damage to property, or injury, illness or disease:

  • arising out of any deliberate act.
  • arising out of the employment, business or profession of the person(s) insured.
  • suffered by anyone under a contract of service with the person(s) insured and arising out of the work they are employed to do.
  • suffered by the person(s) insured or any member of their family or servants.
  • arising out of Liability which attaches by virtue of an agreement unless such liability would have attached in the absence of such agreement.
c) Events caused by any dog described in Section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act.
d) Events caused by any animal(s) listed in the 'Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976 (Modification) Order 1981.
1. The Persons insured:
 
  • must not admit responsibility, agree to pay any claim or negotiate with other person, following an incident.
  • must provide any information reasonably requested by insurers.
  • must allow insurers to take charge of the claim and to prosecute in the insured's name for insurers own benefit.
  • must forward immediately any writ summons or legal process, unanswered to insurers.
2. The insurer reserves its rights to settle your claim on a proportionate basis if you have other insurance covering the same liability.
3. This insurance only operates in respect of persons insured who are domiciled in the UK and/or on temporary posting overseas excluding USA and Canada.
